A friend of mine just told me about this film. In typical pirate fashion, I just downloaded it today and I’m looking forward to watching it when my workload slows down, maybe this weekend.

the biggest gift ever to the music industry: social media
I dunno if our average reader will find this interesting, but me, being me n all, I find it really interesting. It’s also on topic, so I figured I’d post. A wide array of folks in the hip hop world talk about the internet and specifically social networking, the way it fits into todays promotional mix, and how it’s changed the game. It’s “the biggest gift to the industy… ever”.
Shouts to @ItsMotorMane… I spotted this over on BlogOrDiePGH, in the backend before he even posted it.
FDA goes in on cigarette warning labels

this has to be some of the most artsy material that any government agency has ever put out, ever. the FDA recently unveiled a batch of proposed warning labels and branding to be added to cigarette packing and marketing materials. it basically takes the cold hard facts about smoking, and shamelessly portrays them in a way that no cigarette buyer could ignore. there are both comic-esc looking images (as pictured) and scary, medical photos. i don’t have much else to say, but it’s worth heading over to Wired to check out the rest of it.
Social Media Is Not a Fad
This is a really cool video about the social media revolution. I’d like to write more but the #’s in this video say it perfectly.
