Friday morning, Mike and I got up at 6:30 to watch the World Cup opener, and then headed out on our way to Gainesville, Florida. Mike is headed to UF for a year for a Entrepreneurship program, and I’m driving there with him, and flying back on Friday the 19th.
We’re trying to make decent time, but also trying to check some places out n enjoy ourselves. Friday night we headed to Boise and stayed at Mike’s buddy Jose’s place. I’d never been to Boise, and I was really impressed with the scenery. Downtown was full of cool little restaurants and lounges, and as we finished dinner and beers, the nightlife started to happen. Absolutely going to be returning in the future, seemed like a very cool little city.

Next, we headed to Cheyenne, Wyoming… the biggest city in the state at about 50,000. We stayed at Mike’s friend Haile’s house. Haile and her dad Mike took care of us very well, and we headed out to the biggest bar in Wyoming that night, Outlaws. Shit was incredible. This bar has a capacity of about 2,000, biggest place I’ve ever been in. I have never been so completely and utterly out of my element, it was awesome. The patrons of this place live in a completely different world that I do it was crazy to see. It was all real deal cowboys and cowgirls. Belt buckles, hats, the whole thing. There was also a live cover band. Something I found really interesting was that there was no age discrimination at all. There were 20 somethings, and there were 60 year olds. Everyone was just there to party, and we stuck out like a sore thumb. The night was topped off when I saw a guy getting into a Cowboy Shuttle. I asked Haile what the hell that was, and she informed me it was a cab, except you pay what you think is fair for the ride. YES!

West Texas was BLAH. Blue skies for days tho.
Today, we grabbed breakfast at the Luxury Diner, an old boxcar turned restaurant, and headed south. Now, we’re in Lubbock in a hotel. It’s 80 degrees and there’s lightning everywhere. We’re heading to Austin, TX tomorrow, cuz we hear it’s the coolest damn place in the country. More later.
