Ok, even though the site isn’t quite ready, I’ve been sufficiently annoyed by people bashing on Apple’s new hotness, the iPad. Therefor, I shall launch this half masted ship, and tell you people why your wrong.

Apple's latest: The iPad, announced today.

There it is, the iPad. Or as some people are calling it, a giant iPod Touch. Genius! I would expect the same people to see a netbook and say “that’s just a mini laptop.”, in complete disgust aswell. Honestly, why are we comparing this thing to a media player, and then bitching that it doesn’t have the capabilities of your Macbook. IT’S NOT A MACBOOK. IT’S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE.

From my point of view, Apple took a look at your average netbook that does web surfing, email, media, and some word processing. They we’re like “WORD, we can do this way better, with an extremely sexy and flexible device, it’ll be great.” Out came the iPad.

I am a bit baffled by the fact that there is no camera on it, but I wouldn’t be blown away if there is one when it’s actually released, if not on the 2nd gen.

I haven’t looked into things a whole lot, but anyone who is complaining about it being a #fail needs to take a look at the netbook, and realize that it just got pwned by Apple, with the new iPad.

I’m definitely gonna get one of these, but probably will wait til the 2nd gen one is released.

Landforce, I feel you on wanting to get one. I doubt gen. 1 will have a camera since the release is only 60 days away, but I’m definitely intrigued on it’s possibilities. The fact that laptops are getting cheaper and smaller anyways was making the obviously slower netbooks almost obsolete. I think the iPad COULD create a new market there that would take over what the netbook left behind, but I don’t think this generation of it will be that product. People still aren’t sure what to do with it, because honestly, other than iBooks, iWork, speed and screen, it is currently no different than the iPod touch.

There were so many rumors about the ipad in the last several months, people were expecting it to be something its not. Like most new technologies, I think I will wait until the next gen when the bugs are worked out.

Yep yep yep… and in typical Apple fashion, they’re gonna hold out on features like crazy, cuz they know it’s gonna be DOPE and sell like crazy without em anyway… then add em later.

    iPhone–> MMS, Video, etc.

It will never do flash tho, which is kinda funny. I admire Steve Jobs for that one.. he thinks Flash sucks and is sticking to his guns. Remember when everyone thought it was crazy when the first iMac didn’t have a floppy drive?
